I am trying to access Access 2007 from another computer. I get the "cannot
lock file" error and can't get access to the database. I have Access 2003 on
my computer. What should I do?

Are you trying to open another .mdb file or run MSACCESS.exe from another
machine? You won't be able to run Access that's installed on another computer.

No, I have Access 2003 on my computer and I'm trying to access a database on
another computer that has just installed Access 2007. We worked well
together before Access 2007 was installed, but now we are having problems
with the "cannot lock file" error. There are actually several of us that
have accessed the database in the past with Acces 2003. But since the
"server" pc upgraded to Vista and Access 2007, access has been denied and the
error has been displayed.

It's possible that someone converted the database to the A07 format. Does the
database file say .mdb or .accdb?

Actually can you access any files? It might be a Vista permissions problem.
I don't know Vista at all.
