Hello,
A couple months ago a client wanted an app developed, which seemed right for
Access 2007. I had installed the trial version and it had new features that
I thought would be appropriate for this project. I was having some problems
with Access crashing and it was frustrating me. I had to make a decision
to purchase Office 2007 or stay with A2002, which I knew was dependable.
Windows was going bonkers on me so I decided to reinstall XP and install the
purchased Office 2007. Problems that I had with the trial version were not
present except for a crashing problem which was fixed with Office SP1.
There was another issue with Child Links not autopopulating on subforms,
but I worked around that. It may have been addressed, I don't know, but it
didn't hinder the development.
My project is in use and working flawlessly. In addition it is the best
looking app I have ever developed. I am really pleased with Access 2007 and
credit Microsoft with a terrific job with this version. I say that if you
want to purchase A2007 for development, it is safe and so far, reliable.
I am writing this, becuase in the past I have been very critical of
Microsoft when I have been frustrated. I think it is fair to commend them
when they do well.
God Bless,
