Access 2007 Phone Dialer - How do I enter a Phone Number ?

Hi

I can't seem to figure out how to enter a phone number in the phone dialer.
I have Access 2007 and am running Windows Vista Home Premium.

If I enter 1234567890 it tries to dial that number. If I enter 15551234567
it tries to dial 1 5 1234567.

What do I have to enter to dial a phone number of ie. (256) 927-8285 ?

In other words, if I want to call the above long distance number, i would
think I could enter 12569278285 (just as I would dial on a phone).

What am I doing wrong ?
