Access 2007 - Set default sort

R

Rita Brasher

Just upgraded to Office 2007. Previous versions automatically sorted
queries by name. 2007 groups by query type, then sorts by name. Is
there any way to set the default to have any database opened to sort by
name and skip the grouping of the query types? I open several databases
a day and all queries were specifically named to be executed in a
certain order. It's irritating to have to resort every time I open one!

Hope someone can help!

Hi Rita,

That is odd. By default, once you set the sort order, view type and
category for a particular database, it stays that way until specifically
changed by someone or by code. This is a database-level setting, not an
Access-level setting. Are you opening totally different databases each time?

As an alternative to executing the queries by hand, how about automating
the process using VBA or a macro? Then the display order will be irrelavent.
