Access 97 and Office XP

After loading MS Office 97 Pro on my new machine with
Windows XP, I get the message "cannot start Access as
there is no current license on this machine" (at least
that is the jist of it). Someone at work said they had
the similar problem and there was a simple answer. What
is it?
