Access 97 and text files

I have Access97 installed on a server running NT4. The
option to create and read text files is not available.
When attempting a reinstall from CD (upgrade CD), the
option to select text/html is greyed out and checked,
indicating, according to the text in the dialogue box,
that the function is already installed. Following through
with the reinstall does not make the text function
available. I have done this both with and without first
uninstalling. Any answers?

Look for the file mstext35.dll on your hard drive (it should be in the
System folder) and use regsvr32.exe to reregister it. While you're at it,
you might want to do the same for msexcl35.dll, msxbse35.dll and
mspdox35.dll (in case you may also need the ability to import and export
Excel, dBase and Paradox files respectively)

Thanks, Doug. Much appreciated.
