access 97 installed after access 2002 uninstalled

I have Office 2002 installed minus access. We have Access
97 around for old databases still in use. I have
uninstalled Access 2002 and installed Access 97 to a
different directory and I get a message that 'a setup
error occured or there isn't enough free memory to run
access'

Also, setup failed when installing msaccess with this
code.

Object ID 8824 RegMso CAH;
MsoHrRegisterAllEx call failed.

Please help!
