Access 97 re-instalation issues

Hi eveyone, I purchased a new computer that came loaded with windows xp.
When I reloaded my old software on the computer, works 2002, office 2003
upgrade everything worked great until I loaded Access 97 ( Yes I know it's
very old).

I received the following error message:

"Hard disk check search failed. Cannot find any qualifing productus."

Can anyone help me resolve this. I have only one file I use access for and
I would rather not buy a new version of Access just for that. Thanks

Sounds like you have an Upgrade disk for Access 97 and not the "Full"
product. When it was installed onyour old system there must have been a
previous version of Access installed that qualified for the upgrade. You'll
need to install that first (or at least insert its install disk when
prompted) and then the upgrade will work.
