Access 97 - Should it work with Win XP?

Rene

Have installed Office 97 on Win XP home - it all works
excepy Access which claims there is not enough memory (no
other programs are running and I have 1MB ram). Tries
several fresh installs - still does not work. Is this a
known conflict - any cure if so?

Rene,

I have Access 97, 2000 and 2002 all on XP with no problems.
I think that 97 works the best of them all. I am a bit
confused with you saying that you have 1MB Ram. Don't know
how that could be as XP needs 64 to squeek and 128 to wheeze
and 256 to breath.

What exactly are your error messages or symptoms?

Hi Rene,

The problem is not XP, it's the amount of RAM you have.

Assuming you meant to say 1 GB of RAM (not 1 MB) that's
where the problem is. Access 97 will not run on a computer
with 1 GB or more of RAM UNLESS you install the latest JET
service pack.

See this article for all the necessary information:

Hope that helps,
