Access 97 & Windows XP Pro

got a computer running runtime version of access 97.
after upgrading from windows 98 to windows xp pro sp1 the
run time access program will open, allow the user to enter
one record. when the user enters a second record the
runtime version of access 97 will close unexpectedly.

has anyone experienced something similar to this problem.
