Access 97

I have recently purchased a new machine running XP Pro
and installed Office 97 Pro but when I try to run Access
I get the message " Microsoft Access can't start because
there is no licence for it on this machine" I have tried
to correct this with Base article 141373 but it doesn't
work. (can't remane the font)

You only do that with lions ;-) Do you mean the font is not there, or busy. If
busy, you have to un-busy it (reboot).

I see that article 141373 suggests several procedures. They're the only
reported fixes for this problem.

For me, renaming hatten.ttf has worked the few times I've struck it.

BTW Windows XP is "Windows NT technology", so any reference to WindowsNT or
Windows2000 may apply to you.

I found the one time I ran into this problem, that I had to remove the hatten
font from the fonts folder. I was unable to rename it.

THEN I had to reboot the computer and then I could do the remaining steps.
