Access ActiveX Controls and Pics

D.Bennett

Can someone tell me where I can find a resource that gives
descriptions of the ActiveX controls provided with MS Access and what
they do?

Email has now changed: bennettd@"Remove"sympatico.ca
(take out the Remove in quotes for the proper email.)

Also is does anybody have any samples or know what I can use to create
a film strip type form to scroll though pictures.

Thanks in advance

http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=208283 has a list of what the controls
are, but no details about them.

http://www.microsoft.com/AccessDev/articles/activexkb.htm gives some
details.

Note that while the references I cite above are old, nothing's really
changed in the newer versions of Access.

To be very specific, the only ActiveX control that is shipped with Access
is the Calendar control. All the other controls on the list referenced
shipped with the Office 2000 Developer Edition and Office XP Developer
Edition as part of the additional developer tools provided by that product.

The "Developer Edition" did not ship for Office 2003 and no other Office
2003 product includes these controls. You will only have these controls
available to use if you have installed a product, such as the Office
Developer, that includes them.
