Access and Adobe 7.0

Our technicians installed Adobe 7.0 and now I can't use the 1400+ hyperlinks
in my drawing database (Access XP PRofessional). When I click on the
hyperlink in the form, the Adobe window flashes, then disapears. I can open
the files by going to their respective folders, so the files aren't corrupted
in any way. I created a quick and simple database to test hyperlinks. The
test database hyperlink also failed to open the pdf. So I determined that the
problem is probably poor interoperability between Adobe 7.0 and Access. Any
ideas of a solution? Thanks,

I'm not sure, but I think there may be a patch to Acrobat that fixes
this problem. Have you downloaded and installed the latest Adobe
update?

I have the same problem, I have been told that the link between access and
acrobat 7 doesn't work and is sorted in acrobat 8.
I now have reader 8.0 installed and the link works if I start acrobat 8.0
before access.
my problem is that I have unchecked the acrobat 7.0 reference in access vba
tools
but can't add a reference to acrobat 8.0
anyone help?

Sorry to bring this back from the past but I just ran into to same problem
with Access 2003 and Adobe Reader 7.0 and 8.0. Updated to the current 9.0
reader and all is well. Now to get IT to push Reader 9.0 out to all the
computers...

Use another reader. I use Foxit:

and there are other free ones, including open source free ones out there.
The are all leaner, faster, and more trouble-free than Acrobat.
