I have a lot of ASP pages created in frontpage on our IIS server that submit
data and run reports, but for some reporting, I would like to open Access
and run the reports in the full client. How do I architect that?
Some people have said just navigate to the database and open it, but I have
seen two problems: 1) sometimes it copies the database to my computer 2)
sometimes opening it directly seems to interfere with the asp pages talking
with the database and error messages are displayed on the web pages.
note: The IIS server is remote and I don't have terminal permissions. I
think the answer might be to create DSN on my workstation and then create a
database on my desktop and link tables from the one in the server. Is that
right?
