Access App Fails to Launch in XP

Joe

I created an Access 2000 app and placed it on a network
share. Windows 2000 clients launch this app with no
problems, but our Finance Director now uses a TabletPC
with XP. He can launch it once and it runs fine, but if
he closes it, he cannot relaunch it again until he
restarts his TabletPC. Double-clicking the shortcut on
his desktop doesn't do anything, same if we navigate to
the network share and try relaunching the .mdb file
directly.

The Finance Director is my boss's boss :) I need to keep
him happy! Any ideas how to fix this?

Hi Joe,

There are various hotfixes that were created to resolve issues with the
Tablet PC running Microsoft Access, see:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;827983
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;832357
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;833864

It's also very possible that this issue has been fixed in the latest
service pack.

I recommend that you have that Tablet PC apply the latest service pack of
Office 2000.

Also apply the latest version of the Microsoft JET Database Engine, see:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;239114

If it's resolved with a hotfix contact Microsoft Support 1-800-936-5800 and
open a support ticket.

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.
