Access auto-inserts numbers in data entry

S

Sue McCain

When I do data entry into a query, I enter data into a
field and then tab down to the next record. Sometimes I
want to tab through a record and leave the field blank.
But if I have entered, for example, 1 and 2 in the two
preceeding records, Access assumes it's a series and
enters 3 into the next record, even though I've tabbed
through it. I want it to remain blank. How can I turn off
this "feature?"

You're right, it's annoying, and, unfortunately, there's no way to turn it
off.

Use a form for your input, and it shouldn't occur.
