Access Books

Anyone have a good suggestion for an Access book/reference material that
guides the user through developing an actual model (ie, like a Northwind
database), and shows how to establish entities, relate them, create queries,
forms, and reports, etc.? I find that this is the best way to actually learn
how to develop and use a database.

Most of the books out there are "how-to" books - good for researching
something if you already know what it is you're trying to do.

Back in the days of Access 97, one of Allison Balter's books did exactly as
you describe: create a time and billing app, one chapter at a time. She is
still writing Access books, but I don't know if any of her current ones
follow the same format but odds are one of them does. You might simplify
your search by zeroing in on her books.

Sorry, I don't remember the exact title but it was something like
"Developing Access 97 Applications", maybe Programming in place of
Developing.
