Access can't export to file

When I open a report in Access and try to edit it in Word
or Excel I get the following error:
"The formats that enable you to output data as a Microsoft
Excel, rich text format, MS-Dos text, or HTML file are
missing or incorrectly registered in the Windows registry."
I recently upgraded to Windows 2000 and if anything can be
corrected in the registry I would like to know what to
look for.
(two other PC's were upgraded to 2000 but they don't have
this problem)

Hi Wanda,

The first thing is to try re-registering the following files
msexcl40.dll (Excel)
msxbse40.dll (dBase)
mspdox40.dll (Paradox)
mstext40.dll (Text, CSV, tab-delimited))
In Access 97, the filenames contain 35 instead of 40.

To re-register a DLL file,

1) Locate it (usually all these are in the Windows\System32 or
WINNT\System32 folder.

2) Locate the file regsvr32.exe.

3) Drag the DLL file's icon onto the regsvr32.exe icon.

If the import/export wizards don't work at all, re-register ACCWIZ.DLL

I had tried that but three of them gave me the following
error:
"LoadLibrary (*.dll) failed - The specified module could
not be found."
The ones that didn't work were:
msxbse40.dll
mspdox40.dll
accwiz.dll

I have uninstalled and reinstalled MSOFFICE 2000 but no
fix.

Any other suggestions?

Hi Wanda,

I think this is a Windows problem rather than an Access one. If you
haven't already installed Windows 2000 SP4 you should probably do so
(see http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=324673).

Otherwise there seem to be various possible causes: searching the
Microsoft Knowledgebase for
LoadLibrary failed module could found
returns 16 results, but it would be better to ask for help on this in a
Windows forum rather than an Access one.
