Access closes for no reason

I have been running an Access 97, front end / back end configuration for
years and have had very good luck with stability.
I just purchased a new system with a freshly installed OS (Win2K).
When working in my database, access will simply close with the following
message, for no apparent reason.

Error Message :

Program Error
"msaccess.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows. You will
need to restart the program.
An error log is being created."

This is the first time I have ever run into this.
I am running Jet3.51sp3.
I have compacted and even decompiled.
Sometimes it runs for hours just fine, othertimes it runs minutes.
The only thing I just noticed today is I have been in the database for an
hour entering and changing data - no problems. I started Outlook (2003) and
started an e-mail (word 2003 as editor) and it bombed.
Is it possible Outlook or Word is causing the problem?
Could it be a hardware issue?
I also cant find the error log that the error message says it created.

Any ideas?

Hi Tom,
Thank you for the reply.
I found the error log file, but have no idea what I'm looking at or what to
do with it.
I almost get the impression it's a memory conflict error or something (only
guessing).
Any ideas?
Thank you !
Donovan
