Access Closes on "Save-as"

Very strange occurance that I have now see numerous times
and thought I'd check to see if anyone knows that cause or
remedy!

Have a large MS-A-95 (yes unbelievably its still 95)
application. I am editting a form and I usually do a "save-
as" before changing as a backup. As soon as I enter a new
name and hit save, Access immediately closes with no
further messages. The failure leaves a hung *.ldb file.

I have tried Compacting, Repairing, etc. ANY IDEAS ?!?
