Access combobox data update V Saved Records

Help, Help, I can't stop access from changing data, in
saved form generated records, when I update the table used
for my combo box selections on the form. I've tryed
changing the bound coloums to avoid using the list index,
locking records, adding and removing primary keys...

What I did:
My database works like a dream and saves all the data on
the form in the right table untill I update a
different "blasted" table for the combo boxes.
Problem:
Access changes all the old record data. I don't want this
to happen. If I even change the text in one cell from my
combo table, access will change all the cells with same
number in my record table to the new text I entred.
