Access crashes when opening a linked table

Hi

Whenever I try to open a table from the front-end .mdb of
a split database app, Access 2002 crashes and I get an
error dialog - the standard MS-Office dialog that offers
to send a message to Microsoft. Any idea why I can't
open the linked table?

Also, I am unable to create a query in the front-
end .mdb. Similar to the other error, when I add my
field lists to the upper pane of the query design window,
the join lines do not appear and then the crash occurs,
presumably because the tables (in the other .mdb) cannot
be accessed.

Any suggestions to fix or work around?
