Access / DAo Error 3761

When trying to query a remote ODBC table I get an error
message "The decimal field's precision is too small to
accept the numeric you attemp to add". Errornumber 3761.
The error doesn't occur in NT4 + ACC97. Furthermore the
error occurs only when the data received <> 0.

When using the same data source and the same table with
Excel 2002 (via MSQuery), it works OK so there is
something wrong with Access 2002.

Any ideas ???
