access database no longer supports multiple users on a network

I'm using access 2000. My database security is set for multiple users on a
network. Multiple users at another hospital are able to use the access
program on the network. I'm in another hospital (military) and we have
always been able to share the access program on the network as well as have
multiple users simultaneously. About 1 week ago, we (at the military
hospital) were no longer able to have multiple users open the access program
simultaneously. There have not been any changes to the firewalls at this
installation. We still have multiple user capabilities for all other
programs over the network. Any suggestions?
