i am very new at MS Access i have tried to design my own
databases, with some effect. Please could anyone point me
in the right direction to find some templates that i
could use and look at.

There are samples that come with all versions of Office. While I don't care
for much of their naming of objects and the use of lookup fields, the
general functionality is very sound.

to be honest and direct with you, you have to read
something about database theory,a simple book or article
can help,you can read a step by step book,be sure to
emphase on reading about relaships between tables,and
normalisation.
