Access Db not working under Office 2003

Andrea

I created a DB using Access2000. Ran fine.
I upgraded to Office XP SP3 several months ago. No problems
Now I have just upgraded to Windows XP Pro SP2 & Office 2003.
My DB will open but evetually give me an error that said it wanted to send a
report to Microsoft & that it would make a backup of my DB.
When reviewing the details it told me that many problems were reported buy
users and that the problem was fixed. All I had to do was install the
Office2003 SP2 update. I downloaded the full version of the SP2 update &
installed it succesfully. But I still have the same problem. Can anyone
offer any advice? My program is now unusable! Why oh why oh why !?!?!?!?

Andrea,

maybe there is a corrupted module in your app.
1) try to compact & repair the mdb in access 2000 first & try again.

if it did not work
1) create an empty new mdb in access2k3
2) just for safety: create a new module
3) add DAO in the references : save module : close vba edi
4) file/get external data/import
5) choose your access2k mdb
6) import all objects ! but wait!!
6a) do it in stages, so you can find the corrupted module (maybe in modules
or in de reports!)
in this order..
6b) first all tables & querys
6c) then macro's
6d) then modules
6e) then forms
6f) then reports
7g) don't forget the options... relation menus and toolbars if needed.

for each stage in 6) you have to go to step 4) again.

if you had no problems, everything chould work again.
Did you get errors? then you probable already read the text in de error
window, it shows the modulename of the corrupted report.

I hope it helps.

Thanks for the advice Bruno.
But I've also started noticing that the same thing is
happening to ALL my databases.
Even the Northwind.mdb that came with the S/W.
So I downloaded the template for Event management from
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/TC010178291033.aspx
just to test it. Same problem......
It seems to happen every time I try to preview reports.
But I can't say that that's the only time it fails.
This is a NEW install of WinXP Pro Sp2 along with
Office2003 Sp2.
Every thing seemed to install just fine.
And I haven't experienced any other problems with
any other apps.
Yet!
Forgive me for saying so, But I have NEVER experienced
an Update, upgrade, or new install of Microsoft S/W
without any problems. I don't seem to have any problems
with any other applications from other companies.
I know some would criticize me for saying so.
But it is so so frustrating. Time after time after time.

Anyway thanks for the attempt!

If it is something with the preview & reports..

remove all printers

And create a new printer (your default)
