Hi NG,
on 02/24/06 the above error messages appeared on the client and a lot
of other messages appeared in the event log of the Project server
(OLEDB errors etc.) Probably because a WSUS Patch applied to the
server. We are not able to figure it out. After doing some search I
finally tested all possible solutions (MDAC Version, ADODB stream
object, MS Project SQL server users, Edit Site Utility, DNS,
Hostheader, Cokkiesettings on client,...) The strange thing is calling
the Project Server URL being logged on to the server itself with the
same users, works like expected. Looking at the IIS log and using the
fiddler tool to intercept the http traffic shows, that no cookie is set
on the client by Project Server, but the client immediatly gets
redirected to ..lgnps.asp?err=5001. Writing a liitle asp.net
application to show the current user credentials results that on every
level of the project web the user is logged on (NTLM, Passthrough)
correctly. So putting it all in a nutshell it seems that one of the ASP
files of project server processing the login is not able to handle the
login correctly if the client ip differs from the server ip. I can not
think of any other reasons. Any help appriciated eagerly. I really do
not want to install the server from scratch.
Thank you all in advance Mike
