Access Denied on Web Service

I have been working on an InfoPath form and a web service for a few weeks and
everything has been working great. Then all of a sudden, I started getting
Access Denied errors when trying to connect to the web service.

I was able to turn on Full Trust and then create a certificate and get it to
work, but what I don't understand is why did this happen and how can I get
back to not requiring full trust?

The only thing that I did near the time that this occured was install
ActiveSync 4.5. Not sure how this is related, but it is the only thing that
I can think of which changed.

Can someone help?
