"Access denied" while closing tasks to update

I

=ILIE=

A user is the PM of A project.
While he want to lock tasks in "Close tasks to update" page, he recieves
below message:"The selected tasks could not be locked because of the
following reasons: Access Denied"

What's the problem?

BTW, I have checked that he have the permission of "Close Tasks to Updates".

The problem is the design. Users need also 'manage time tracking' permission
to be able to close tasks to update.
Alternative is to set tasks to publish to 'no'. (task field in MsProject).

You're welcome.

Please be aware that this user gets access to several 'server settings' in
PWA through this permission. That's why I mentioned the alternative.

hm, I didn't think of that.
Does that applies to only the assignement or the whole task and it values
like work, act work etc.? (the tasks are visibible in PWA project details).

I'm pretty sure it removes the work values from reporting and analysis.

Is there any way to close tasks without the 'manage time tracking' permission ?

I would like to have the PM able only to close tasks.

How can change the MSP_WEB_SECURITY tables to the expected behaviour ?

Thanks,
Patrizio
