Access: Desktop Engine Installation

Steve

I have Access 2002 installed on my Win2000 Pro computer
and wanted to install the SQL Desktop Server engine. When
I try to run the setup I get this error message:
"The Instance Name Specified is Invalid".

What's up? Can you direct me so I can get this installed?

Are you possibly using a name that is too long? Just a guess on my part...

Tom,

I'm just attempting to run the install from the cd when I
get the error. Where would I look? I'm not giving any
server /netbios names.

Hi Steve,

Try this KB article:
