Access desktop shortcuts stopped working

The desktop shortcut for MS Access stopped working. I have checked and the
network is mapped correctly. Other network applications and shortcuts are
working fine. I tried to create a new shortcut, it too did not work.

How are you creating this shortcut?

Right-click on the file you want to open, choose Send To, Desktop (Create
Shortcut)
You can place this shortcut anywhere you want.

The shortcut properties will show the path and filename. e.g:
c:\databases\abc.mdb

I found the answer in another online blog
Our netwrok computers upgraded to IE7 and the Intranet security was
preventing the shortcut from functioning. Hope this helps someone else.
