access ...excel and infopath integration

i have been trying to no avail to link infopath and excel together...and ive been told by more than one person that i should use access instead.. i am brand new to access and was wondering if the excel spreadsheet can be exported to access and the report created... etc...also is it east to then embed access within a webpage in frontpage...plz adv se
