access form problem

An access devloper left all of the sudden and I inherited his database.

Guess what I'm trying to look at his stuff. I'm only a causual user of
access but I've done a few small projects but nothing fancy.

His switchboard is there and so are his forms, queries, and reports. All
the normal controls are missing when you open the database. What is
missing is any code to drive the interface.

The strangest thing is that all the tables have links to another
database where all the data is located. The really sad thing is that
many of the backups are only of the database with the switchboard and
not of the data itself.

How do I break into his code so I can try to understand or try and fix
this mess?

Hold the shift key down and open the database to get to design view. Go to the
forms, select a form and click on the code button in the toolbar at the top.

If you don't know where the data file is, click on Tools at the top and find the
link table manager. Run the LTM and it will display the path to the data file.
