Access has wrong path

M

Mark

I copied my Access database and all supporting files to a portable thumb
drive so I could take it on the road with me. I try to run the database from
the portable drive and I get the following error: C:\Documents and
Settings\<username>\Desktop\504Excel.xls' is not a valid path. Make sure
that the path name is spelled correctly and that you are connected to the
server on which the file resides. The associated excel file is on the
portable drive as well
How do I change the path so it points to the excel file that is associaed
with it.

Hi,

- Open the database file
- Select the menu option Tools > Database Utilities > Link Table Manager
- Check the Excel file C:\Documents and
Settings\<username>\Desktop\504Excel.xls
- Place a check mark on "Always prompt for new location"
- Click OK
- Choose the new path to the linked Excel file
- Click Open

I hope this helps! If you have additional questions on this topic, please
respond back to this posting.
