Access in front page

J

Just a Newbie

Hello Group and thank you for being here.

I have created a web site using front page 2002.
my web site host does not use access on my hosting package.
I can get around and usually do teach my self what I want to learn.
and then again I think I do a pretty good job at staying away from those
things I can not teach myself :).
My package does include MYSQL or is it PHP my admin. sorry but I am trying
my best to make this clear.
I looked at the tutorials for the MY things mentioned above and I think it
is beyond me.

I am into real estate and would like to give my clients videos and pictures
of available properties.
I would also like to create a data base using Access and have it set so that
as I make changes to
my data base those changes would also be made in FrontPage. or would it be
easier to learn using another program
like excel. as far as my HTML knowledge all I really know is <br>.

as far as my web site goes - I would like it not to have that home made
look.
I have already created it and think I did a pretty good job.
is this the right group for these kinds of questions? will you guys n gals
help me?
thank you.
Tom

It sounds like your web site is not hosted on a Windows server, which is a
prerequisite for using Access.

Hi Tom,

As long as you want to show your pictures and contents on pages, frontpage
will help you. But incase of your database connectivity or any data storage
components like frontpage form and related frontpage specific features you
need to compramize on that.
For PHP I know only one place where like to redirect
http://www.w3schools.com/php/default.asp
this will give you a fair idea about PHP.
FrontPage Allows you to Write any script which you want.
but as you told, you are new to all this stuff , bettor you create static
contents on your website and put them on server using FTP.
that all what i can suggest to you.
