Access lisence

I attempted to install Microsoft Office XL and received a
message "you do not have a lisence to run this program on
this machine" I then uninstalled Office XP and installed
an older version of Office 97.

Word, Excel and Powerpoint all start-up fine but access
gives the same error message as before - "you do not have
a lisence to run this program on your machine"

Can someone tell me how to get rid of this message so I
can install Access?
