Access locking issue

From time to time access prevents users from connecting to the database. We
recently have moved the database to sql server but kept the FE. Access shows
the generic error message which says can not open the database. It's been
locked by admin- gives the machine name. In order to resolve the issue, all
the users exist out of the app and then reconnect. Has anyone else have
experienced this and is there a fix for this problem?
