Using transactions - What are the differeces whether the data is linked to
SQL or access??? Are their things that are supported in one and not the
other, or other differences?

See the topics "Transactions" and "Transaction Architecture" in SQL
Books Online. SQL Server guarantees that all transactions pass the
ACID test, which is something that Access/Jet cannot do reliably.
