Access OLE Server Error

I need help resolving the error 'A problem occurred while
communicating with the OLE Server or Active X Control...
Close the OLE Server and restart it outside of Access'

Research indicates that this error is related to Norton
Antivirus Script Blocking or Office 2000 plug in enabled.
However, I've followed all the instructions from Norton
and I've also uninstalled both Norton and Access. After
reinstalling Microsoft Access, the error still persist.
Can anyone help?
