Access open and close

When my access opens the window opens like it balloons
from the icon on the status bar and when it closes it
gathers to the icon on the status bar and closes. Is
there a way to stop this? I just want it to open and I
just want it to close without all the ballooning and
gathering, tracking or whatever it is called.
