Access Page - validation rule

I an trying to validate data through an Access Page. I
have a validation rule set up in my table that validates
the account number to be 9 digits. It works fine on a form
but when I enter data on my Access Page, the Validation
rule message pops up everytime I enter an account number
enen if it is 9 digits long. Is tere a way to validate
data at the Access Page level?
