access pivot table

Hi

I am using access 2003 (system) on my own pc - at home.

When I try to use the pivot table (any table I try), I
get the following message: "The connection with the ole
server was lost or the ole server encountered an error
while you were using it"

I am not connected to any server and there are no links
to other files

can anyone help ?
