Access Project Server and STS through internet.

I have a Project Server that can be access through the internet.
The user logon to Project Server using Project Server account. Using the
PWA features is not a problem, but they can't access documents and
issues because STS does not support anonymous.

If i configure the STS site to use NTLM and Windows Authentication which
is the orignal way, that mean i create a Window account, assign it as
user to the STS subweb and then when the user go into
documents and issues, the login dialog will prompt up, user key in the
user name, password and domain.

Can the user then be authenticated to use STS features?

My understanding is that the user authentication is not
passed to STS across the Internet and that you need to
use Citrix or equivalent to use the "system" via the
Internet.
