access protection

Hi all,
How do you prevent users from altering a visio diagram but allow alterations
yourself? If you use the read only function a user can change this property
back to write access. Saving as a web page is not really what I am after.

Any ideas? Is there a more permanent way of protecting my files from
alterations?

consider not distributing them as visio files (pdf, svg, wmf, bmp, etc....)

Perhaps you could think of using the Visio viewer

Keep the master safe and distribute a copy saved as one of the various image
types that Visio can Save As.

The copy will be hard to change and be far smaller than the Visio drawing.
