Access reports to be inserted into Word document

I want to generate a report in Access and then import the text into a Word
document.
I am already doing this, but I am hoping there is a better way.

What I'm, doing now is setting up the report so that each element in the
ouput that is destined to have a different Word style assigned to it, is set
up in the report definition with a diferent font size. Since I can search
for a font size in Word and replace it with a style, this works. I export
the report to RTF file and then read it into Word.
Problem is that Access always formats reports to fit on a printed page.
After I transfer the text to Word, the original page layout is no longer
relavant. I now have to go and find th page breaks and remove them manally.

Certainly the better way is to create your report template in Word as a mail
merge document and then pull the data in from the Access fields you need.
You'll never get the export of a report from Access into Word to work in any
other way that what you are doing currently. To reverse the order, have
Word pull the Access data into your styled up document.

Thanks for the reply.

My report has several sort headings with different sort criteria.. I don't
see how mail merge could deal with anything but a simple table of data.
Am I missing something?
