Access runs slowly for a while, then fast

Access 2002, SP3

Saving forms during development: for a while, Access will save the form
immediately (under a second), then during the next hour or two, it will take
over 20 seconds to save, then suddenly will be back to saving fast again for
the next couple of hours.

Compact/repair does not affect this, it does not take a reboot to solve the
problem, and it seems to be unrelated to other programs running. It happens
with and without Symantec running.

Any ideas? Am I missing some optimization issue?

If you have Name AutoCorrect enabled in the options (Tools -> Options ->
General), turn it off.

Thanks. That did it. I think I may have asked the same question several
months ago, and you probably answered it the same way for me that time. This
time I logged the answer so I don't forget next time.
