We develop a number of Access applications that use Access runtime. The
problem we have is that when we install the runtime version of Access, it
will install itself into the current Office Directory on that workstation.
For example, if Office 2000 is installed, it will install under Microsoft
Office 2k\office11
If Office 2003 is installed it will install under Microsoft Office
2003\office11
We have our shortcuts configured for use under Microsoft Office
2003\office11 directory.
Through a script we can move the runtime folder to a common folder for all
shortcuts to operate correctly. What effect would this have on any registry
entries made when the 2003 runtime is installed. Would we gain anything by
using the Access runtime 2007 runtime over the 2003 runtime?
Perhaps another method would be more suitable in handling this situation?
Thanks,
