Access security question. PLEASE HELP

I have created user level security for my database using the
“security-level-user-wizard†in Access2003. I was working on the shared file
folder when I created used the “security-level-user-wizardâ€. Everything is
working perfectly when I try to access the database from my PC but the
security feature does not work when I try to open it from another PC. Also, I
noticed that other databases are also prompting me for a user name and
password and I don’t want that (for other databases), is there a way around
this issue?

Please help.

Thanks,
Kash

Hi.

password

As Paul mentioned, you really, really need to understand user-level security
before implementing it. After you've thoroughly studied the Security FAQ,
you'll find that it's easiest to access the secure database if all users
remain joined to the default workgroup, and use a shortcut that joins the
user to the secure workgroup before opening the secure database. Please see
the tip "How to open databases and only be prompted for User ID and password
for the secure databases" for instructions on how to set this up and create
the shortcut on the following Web page:

And if multiple users are connecting to this database from across the
network, then they should not be sharing the same database file unless the
database has been split, and each user has a copy of the front end on his
own workstation. For more information, please see the tip on split
databases on the following Web page:
