Access should provide for relative path links to tables.

Currently, linking tables creates an absolute path to the external tables.

I would like to create relative path links to external tables so that if
drive letters are changed, for example, it is not necessary to relink the
tables using the Linked Table Manager.

It's fairly easy to write your own code to do that (and, to be honest, I'd
prefer having my own code, rather than relying on defaults)

Take a look at http://www.mvps.org/access/tables/tbl0009.htm at "The Access
Web". Realistically, all you should need to change is the section of code

strMsg = "Do you wish to specify a different path for the Access Tables?"

If MsgBox(strMsg, vbQuestion + vbYesNo, "Alternate data source...") = vbYes
Then
strNewPath = fGetMDBName("Please select a new datasource")
Else
strNewPath = vbNullString
End If

so that it sets strNewPath based on the front-end's location.
