Anyone know why this might be happening?
Win XP, Office 2003, 512MB ram, Celeron 1.4 Dell Lat.D600
I have several secure db's that are access 2002-2003 file format. I use
desktop shortcuts where the target of the shortcut specifies the user name,
where to locate the secure mdw file and the location of the db.
1. If I open a non-secure db, followed by a secure db - no problem, both
open.
2. If I open a secured db using the shortcut, followed by a non-secure db,
the open db will stop responding and the second db does not open
3. If I do step (1) where two aps are running ok, then open a third non sec
db, one of the running sec db's will stop responding, the other will still
work, the 3rd would not open.
The same thing happens if I open the sec db's as a user with no shortcut.
This is also repeatable no matter what sec db I use. As longs as it is done
in the order I described above, one application will quit responding. In
fact, if I open 3, 4 or 5 sec. db's and couple of front ends to those sec.
db's, then open a non sec. db, it will kill one application each time I try
to open it. Click again, lose another running access ap...and so on.
